| COMING PROGRAM |
Gary Abbagnaro, Parametric Technology Corporation A demonstration will be given of the newest technologies in computerized engineering design. It will run on "Pro/ENGINEER" a product development tool for design-through-manufacturing. Some of the technologies demonstrated will include parametric design, feature based design, cognitive (intelligent) features, solids modeling, and concurrent engineering. |
| LAST MEETING | Mr. Joe Guthrie, Executive Director of the Southeast Industrial Development Association discussed initiatives to assist existing and new companies in the Chattanooga Region. He stated that the issue was to stay prepared. This means anticipating company site locations by having land, building and utilities in place before they begin looking. Businesses demand that a location is available and productive immediately. Additionally this assists the new firm with "visioning" future operations. The Association assists in locating innovative financing and regional skill centers for employee development. An important initiative for the Association is the reuse of brown field sites. These existing empty facilities are usually located in urban settings. They normally have existing utility infrastructures in place and represent a reclamation of jobs and new urban investment. |
