| LAST MEETING | Mr Mark Warren of Consolidated Media Systems delivered a multimedia
presentation on the new data storage format known as Digital Versatile
Disc. This format provide random access memory (similar to your current
CD-ROM), video and audio. While a CD-ROM provides 600 megabytes of storage
the double sided double density DVD can provide 17 gigabytes. This will
allow for full video 30 frames per second quality, multi version (G, PG,R…)
movies, multiple audio tracks for different languages and full stereo surround
sound. The equipment to play the DVD will also be able to play the current
CD-ROMs. CD-ROM players will not be able to play the new DVD however (Of

| ANNOUNCEMENTS | Chattanooga Regional Science & Engineering Fair sent Brad Atkins,
Polk County High, Melissa Meyer, Tullahoma High and Wilt Heltsley, Tullahoma
High to the International Science Fair in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Atkins
was a 3rd place winner in the Engineering Category. Miss Meyer received
honorable mention from the Acoustical Society of America. Martha Davis
presented a workshop on Administration and Fund Raising at the International
Fair.
Positions Open at Chattanooga State Technical Community College: 1) Industrial Maint. Technology, faculty, 12 month, tenure track, to teach courses and coordinate the activities of the Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Industrial Maintenance Technology. Candidate must have BS in Engineering, MS preferred, and three years of industrial experience and/or college teaching experience. 2) Mechanical Engineering Technology, faculty, 9 month, tenure track, to teach courses in the Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Candidate must have BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, MS preferred, PE registration or CMfgE certification, and three years industrial experience, engineering experience, and or college teaching experience.
