THIS WEEK  FIELD TRIP – The outgoing dean (pro tempore) of the Engineering School, Greg Sedrick, will conduct a tour of the schools labs and facilities with an emphasis on the changes in the last four years, and a brief look at the plans for the future.

Meet in the reception area of Grote Hall (next to the Student Center on East Fifth Street) at about 11:50. There will be NO meal, so YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN FOR LUNCH!

LAST WEEK  Rich Bailey of the Chattanooga News Bureau, a working division of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, was on hand to explain the working aspects of Chattanooga strategy for national publicity, with particular emphasis on the new technical possibilities of “Smart Park” and the Volunteer site.

This effort has resulted in the inclusion of Chattanooga in numerous articles on subjects from urban planning to economics. This effort is entirely separate from efforts to get publicity for travel and recreation.
