| THIS WEEK | Jim Boney from the City of Chattanooga mayor’s office will present a patriotic program. |
| LAST WEEK | Keith Buckner , of Advanced Vehicle Systems, and a recent graduate
of the UTC Engineering program, presented a program on the products of
his company, including the new 33 foot electric bus.
Current projects include Boston’s Logan airport and buses for New York City. These buses are redesigned for the colder temperatures and to incorporate new technology, including a turbine-generator set that can supply about 30 KW. AVS has been the primary provider to CARTA for the current generation of electric shuttles seen every day in the downtown area. The new vehicles will allow the electric bus technology to be used on routes that require larger vehicles. (While a web site was promised, it was nowhere to be found) |
