THIS WEEK____________________________________________________________
The Chattanooga Data Connection (CDC), one of our local Internet Service Providers, and the host of the engineering listserv, will discuss the concept of start-up, promotion, and operation of new businesses over the Internet and comment on the types and levels of competition that should be anticipated.

LAST WEEK____________________________________________________________
Tiffany Gibby presented on the abundance of engineering resources on the World Wide Web. She also pointed out the use of several web search utilities, and the optimum way to obtain the best search, such as using Boolean logic.
Some of the websites recommended were:
galaxy.einet.net/galaxy/Engineering-and-Technology.html (provides many links to other engineering sites.)
www.iso.ch/welcome.html (as you would expect, this site has ISO standards and catalogs.)
techreports.larc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/NTRS (NASA will wow you with some fantastic pictures.)
www.nist.gov (National Institute of Standards in Technology)
www.thomasregister.com (a great site for vendor information, as a member you can order on line, obtain CAD drawings, request literature, or email someone.)
www.rpi.edu/dept/chem/cheminfo/chemres/chemres_03.html (you can view the periodic table, you can download share wares, including one that allows you to "play" with chemicals, a virtual lab.)
www.ecmag.com (very attractive web page, recommended resource for those who does contract work.)
www.epa.gov/surf (surf your watershed.)
www.mapblast.com/mblast/index.mb (by supplying the longitude and latitude, you can link to this site to generate a detail map.)
More suggested web sites will be available on the CEC site, http://www.utc.edu/~engrcs/cec/cec.htm
