THIS WEEK__________________________________________________________________
New E Commerce solution company, Allegro eCom, will present "Perils and
Pitfalls of True-E Business". Frank Grebowski and Steve King co-founded the
company in November of 1999. They met through former jobs with Synthetic
Industries. Mr. King has years of information technology experience, while
Mr. Grebowski has engineering and management background. Seeing the
untapped potential of e-commerce for many businesses in the Chattanooga
area, Allegro eCom would like to do more than web site design, or software
sale or installation, but to help companies develop true e business
strategies, and business to business e solutions.

LAST WEEK___________________________________________________________________
More than 20 members were treated to a great lunch in the library of Tyner
Academy, Chattanooga's new math, science, and technology magnet school. Dr.
Jesse Register, Superintendent of Hamilton County Schools, Joe Conner,
Hamilton County Board of Education, and Tyner's principal, Steve Ball,
welcomed us and asked that we continue to support improvements in public
education. The tour included an English classroom, office technology class,
drafting class, and the new technology room. There are over 400 students at
Tyner Academy. The school can accommodate up to 800 students, but Mr. Ball
hopes to operate at around 600 to 700 students. Tyner High School became
Tyner Academy last fall. Mr. Ball had the opportunity of interviewing over
100 applicants to select his staff of 35 teachers. Students at Tyner are
required to take four years of math, and four years of science. The
curriculum is designed to advance all Tyner graduates to higher education.
Mr. Ball stated that the faculty assumes that is the goal for all Tyner
students. In the school's first year as a magnet school, the students will
participate in this year's Math Count, Science Olympiad, and Science Fair.
We offered to participate in Tyner's mentor program upon request.
