THIS WEEK__________________________________________________________________
Jill Davis, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Super Fund
Division, will present a program on the status of known contamination at the
Volunteer Site as well as plans and schedules for clean-up.


LAST WEEK___________________________________________________________________
Jim Johnston and Kenneth Flynn returned to provide information on future
TDOT(Tennessee Department of Transportation) projects around Chattanooga.
Chattanooga is part of TDOT's Region Two.  Region Two consists of twenty
four counties, stretching from Chattanooga north to Kentucky state line and
from Manchester east to Sweetwater.  Mr. Johnson listed the following
projects:
Widening I-75 to eight lanes, from Standifer Gap to Summit exit, and from
Lee Highway to Ooltewah exit.
Widening I-27 to eight lanes, from Manufacturing Road to Signal Mountain
Blvd. exit.
Widening I-111 to four lanes, both in Hamilton County and Sequatchie County.
Widening Signal Mountain Blvd. To six lanes, at Suck Creek Raod.
Widening Hixson Pike, from Chester Frost County Park to Dallas Hollow Road
Widening East Brainerd Raod to Graysville Road
Maintenance of Market Street Bridge
Lookout Mountain Bridge, State Route 148
Widening Ashland Terrace to Dayton Blvd.
Widening Shallowford Road
Widening East 3rd Street Bridge with five lanes and side-walk.
Widening of Gadd Road.
Start date of the above projects range from October 2000 to September of
2002.  More information can be located on

COMING PROGRAM________________________________________________________

September 18- Maurice Bandy, VP of ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller, "Defining the
Boundary of the Volunteer Site, Efforts and Technology Employed to
Accomplish the Task".

September 25 - Claude Ramsey, Hamilton County Executive, "Volunteer Site as
a component of the local economic development strategy.

September Program Chair is Terry Reynolds

CHRISTMAS PARTY____________________________________________________
December 1 has been proposed as the date for our 2000 Christmas Party.
$37 will be the cost for each to take part in the Southern Belle dinner
cruise.
