NEXT MEETING_________________________________________________________

Monday, March12

Topic: The Cisco Networking Academy Program – Ellen Lail, Cisco Systems Representative.

The Cisco Network Academy Program is a comprehensive 8-semester/560-hour course that trains students to design, build and maintain computer networks. Students are also prepared for industry standard certifications including the Cisco Certified Network Associate. Armed with such certifications, students have been able to find readily available jobs earning in the neighborhood of $53,000 a year.

Ellen Lail, Cisco Systems representative and regional account manager, will provide us an overview of the Academy Program and describe what this program would mean to students in the Chattanooga area. She says that its curriculum is offered at high schools, technical schools, colleges and universities (as continuing education courses) throughout the country. The program has demonstrated the potential for highly successful partnerships among Cisco Systems, educators, governments, technology companies and communities.

More information on the program can be found at this site: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/edu/academy/
