NEXT MEETING ___________________________________________________
Monday, June 4, 12:00 noon
Cellar Restaurant at Union Square
Downtown, Chattanooga
TOPIC: Peeling the Power Quality Onion
Arshad Mansoor, Engineering Manager,
EPRI-PEAC, Knoxville
Poorly performing electrical equipment is often not identified until it has sustained substantial damage. In some cases an entire production plant may be rendered inoperable by such equipment. Fortunately, there are teams of "ghost busters" that can assess the electrical characteristics of an entire plant and determine the sources of potential faults and power quality problems before they inflict mayor damage. What’s more, the team can determine the best way the plant should deal with the problems.
Arshad Mansoor, Engineering Manager, EPRI-PEAC, Knoxville, will describe how such teams operate and the tools they use to do so.
This will be a joint meeting of the
Chattanooga Engineers Club and the Electrical Institute of
Electrical Engineers (IEEE). Mike Ingram will be the program
chairman.
