OUR PREVIOUS MEETING July 8, 2002 _________________________________
Our own Greg Sedrick came to the rescue when our scheduled speaker was unable to make it. Greg spoke to us on several interesting topics related to advanced technology, technology transfer, and economic development.
Hamilton County, the City of Chattanooga and other community members hope to bring together many constituients in Chattanooga that can help to make the Incubator for advanced technology a success.  Possible advanced technology ideas they could translate into economic development projects include:
1. ISO 14000 certification will become important for many local manufacturers. ISO 14000 registration requires a management plan in  place for all waste products from their process. Having this information identified will help to either find creative ways to reduce the amount waste or create new products from manufacturing waste.
2. Less expensive ways to treat fertilizer so that it won't be explosive and thereby a potiential terrorist weapon.
3. Smart shoes that tranfer energy from walking into a massager for diabetic and poor circulation feet.
4. Microscopic smart pellets that attack forming cataracts.

Our thanks go to a kind ghostwriter for providing us this presentation summary.
