NEXT WEEK _____________________________________________________
Monday, January 27 - noon
Cellar Restaurant, Downtown

Topic:  Homeland Security:  Biological Preparedness - "Smallpox".  Marti Smith, Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department

Today in the United States we are well aware of our susceptibility to terrorist attacks.  As a community within our nation we must be prepared for the possibility that such an attack could occur on a local level.  If not an attack like that of 9/11 using airplanes, then by another means such as introduction of a potentially deadly biological agent.  Much information has been presented in the media recently in regards to biological agents used as weapons in particular smallpox.  Marti Smith from the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department will provide us with important information on smallpox, the life-saving vaccine, local plans to immunize all of Hamilton County’s citizens within a ten-day time period should one case of smallpox be diagnosed in the United States, and how you can assist with this homeland security effort.  She will also be available to answer related questions.
