OUR PREVIOUS MEETING________________________________________________
Karen Hundt told us that the previous plan for the downtown Chattanooga area was developed in the early 1990's and much of that plan has now been implemented. Citizens met in 2004 to discuss this latest plan that now lists about 150 specific changes that they want for downtown Chattanooga. Some of the changes suggested in the plan are to make all streets two-way and to redesign the Broad Street median. People also want more housing unit options downtown. The list is specific at the same time it covers many issues. This most recent plan through 2025 is now on a Computer CD attached to a colorful large (folded) poster showing maps with a color key to the proposed development. These posters and CDs are available from the Planning & Design Studio, Development Resource Center, Suite 3010, 1250 Market Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402, (423) 668-2262.
