NEXT MEETING June 5, 2006 - "Geothermal Heat
Pump Systems in the Tennessee Valley" - David Dinse, Tennessee Valley
Authority
The presentation will touch on the conceptual
basics, challenges, economics, and practical hands-on experiences of geothermal
heat pump systems. Conditioned space in the Tennessee Valley is growing to over
10 million square feet. A recent study by the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency showed that geothermal heat pumps (geoexchange) generally have the lowest
life-cycle cost and the lowest impact on our environment. Consumers rank their
comfort and satisfaction with geoexchange systems higher than all others. While
a higher initial investment is required, the investment is paid back through low
energy bills (enhancing resale value), excellent family safety, and real
comfort. (www.geoexchange.org)

American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers
(ASHRAE).

with us the implementation of high definition television broadcasting. The
target date for their analog transmission to stop is now February 2009.
WRCB has 2 towers on Signal Mountain and is now broadcasting an analog signal
from one (channel 3) and a digital signal from the other (channel 13). We
discussed the electromagnetic interferance on these low channels and also the
advantages of the low channels.
