NEXT MEETING Nov. 13, 2006 “Microfiltration for Water Treatment” Bob Borneman, Vice President with ARCADIS in Chattanooga.

The presentation will discuss advances in filtration technology for water treatment and will discuss a recently completed water filtration project by ARCADIS. A rural water utility in upper east Tennessee was required to install filtration on their groundwater supply. They also wanted to restore and utilize a historical building on property they had recently acquired. Design of the project, equipment selection, and installation had to carefully consider not only the water treatment requirements but also the restoration of the existing building. The project was successfully placed in service at the end of 2005.

Location: The Tallan Cellar Restaurant, basement of Regions Bank at 200 West Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd Chattanooga, TN 37402.

Parking: Parking is available on the 10th street side of the building, or you may park at the Days Inn Hotel across Carter Street (leave a dashboard note saying “Chatta. Engrs. Club”).

Lunch will be available for $11 beginning at 11:30 am and will be buffet style including beef stroganof, baked squash, fried okra, garden salad, apple cobbler, roll and a drink.
