speak on ¡°Engineering for a Developing World.¡± Engineers without
Borders are a non-profit humanitarian organization established in partnership
with developing communities worldwide in order to improve the quality of life.
This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering
projects that developing communities can own and operate by socially
responsible international engineers and engineering students. Cost: $25 per

Technology for Commercial Applications. Chris Davis, Chief Operating Officer of Logan
Engineering, will describe different types of fuel cell technology.
March 5 – Dr. Marilyn A. Brown, Professor of Public
Policy at Georgia Tech has been invited to speak on ¡°Energy and Public
Policy.¡±
March 12 – Wayne Huddleston, Project Manager with
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be speaking on the construction of the
lock at the Chickamauga Dam on the Tennessee River.
March 19 – Rob Del Bueno
of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy will
describe the process developed by his company to convert used cooking oil into
fuel for mass transit.
March 26 – Robert Whitten, Jr. from the National Center for Computational Science at Oak
Ridge National Laboratory will be speaking on status of high performance
computing at ORNL.

Manager for Brenntag Mid-South Chemicals spoke on
chemical safety with particular emphasis on hazards associated with common
household chemicals. He shared many personal experiences ranging from
controlling industrial fires to humorous ¡°misadventures¡± involving chemical
accidents, all of which could have been prevented with proper care and
handling.

Speaking Opportunities! Volunteers needed to address
speaker requests from elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and
youth groups to visit classrooms, assemblies, and group meetings. High school
student groups may schedule tours of CSTCC to visit
mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical technology classes and other locations
of the campus. The tour invitation is not limited to E Week, but all through
