Rob Del Bueno of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy described the process developed by his company to convert used cooking oil into fuel for mass transit. The first production unit is capable of recycling up to 250,000 gallons of used cooking oil into biodiesel that meets stringent ASTM standards. This unit is now producing all fuel for Emory University's fleet of shuttle buses, using cooking oil from the campus eating facilities.  Using a strategy of local collection, conversion and use. The company has developed a business model that could be franchised to other markets of similar size.
