April 2 – Nine Kruesi Honorees Present Business Innovations

Each of the nine Kruesi Honorees for 2007 has been invited to provide a short overview of the innovation that led to their selection as Honorees. The Kruesi Award is presented annually to a Chattanooga area company that exemplifies business ingenuity. Through a rigorous selection process, nine companies have been identified to receive Kruesi Honoree designations for this year. The finalist and the eventual winner of the award for this year will be chosen from these companies.

The Kruesi Award designation has been created by a local family whose Swiss ancestor, John Kruesi, immigrated to America and worked with inventor Thomas A. Edison. Kruesi made the first phonograph in 1877 and was the principal mechanic on countless other patented innovations, including the incandescent light bulb.
