June 4 - "Happenings at EPB" Ron Fugett. P.E. will be covering the new building, the need for a rate increase, and general information about fiber to the home. Here is your chance to learn more about the company that distributes most of the electricity we use to heat, cool and light our homes, schools, offices and manufacturing facilities.
Lunch will be available for $11 beginning at 11:30 am, and will be from the outstanding Cellar Buffet. Location: Tallan Cellar Restaurant, 200 West ML King Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37402.
Note: Parking is no longer available at the Days Inn Hotel due to extensive on-going renovations at the Inn. Use on street meters or park in the rear of the Tallan Building or in one of the commercial lots nearby.
Professional Development units (PDUs) are available for most technical programs at CEC meetings
June 11 - No Meeting on Monday of this week due to Joint Meeting on Friday.
June 15 - TSPE, ASCE, CEC, and CTC are planning a joint meeting at noon on Friday, June 15.  Rear Admiral Raymond K. Alexander, Civil Engineer Corps, Deputy Chief of Civil Engineers and Deputy Commander for Contingency Engineering will speak during Navy Week celebration...location and other details to follow.
June 18 -  John Morris of Sunlight Direct will demonstrate state of the art in solar/passive lighting systems that have been installed at the Siskin Children's Institute. Box lunches will be provided.  Details to follow.

May 21 - The UTC Mini Baja Team described their entry in the Eastern Regional competition sponsored by the Society for Automotive Engineers.  The new vehicle features an independent rear wheel suspension system, a shorter wheelbase, and is stronger but more than 100 pounds lighter than the vehicle that placed 19th last year in a field of more than 120 teams.

Several Chattanooga Engineers Club programs are included; you may be on there too! Go to www.localwebcastnetwork.com, click the free registration, enter your name, email address, and password, and then activate using the confirmation email. We are inviting them to return soon, so more Chattanoogans can see our great programs.
Speaking Opportunities! Volunteers needed to address speaker requests from elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and youth groups to visit classrooms, assemblies, and group meetings. High school student groups may schedule tours of CSTCC to visit mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical technology classes and other locations of the campus.
