December 3 – “Intelligent Transportation Systems.” Kirk Shore of CARTA will explain and describe CARTA's plans for ITS deployment in Chattanooga&nbs p; Public transportation systems can help solve congestion and pollution caused by automobiles, but many municipal bus systems are stuck in 1950s technology. Imagine looking at the internet and seeing your bus on it's route, walking out your door seconds before the bus arrives at the stop. Imagine being a dispatcher with the capability to add buses to routes during high volume special events to match ridership. In this week’s talk Kirk will cover ITS, scheduling software, free wireless internet, foundational business systems in transit, data warehousing, key performance indicators/dashboards, automatic vehicle location/computer aided dispatch, automatic passenger counting, and advanced traveler information systems. This week we will hear how ATTI is working with Carta to develop wireless computer systems for enhancing "Intelligent" Transportation Systems in Chattanooga.  Intelligent Transp ortation Systems can help increase ridership, reduce fossil fuel use and help with traffic congestion in our cities.

Come lunch and learn with us! Attend this program on Monday, Dec 3 at the world famous Tallan Cellar Restaurant. Buffett style lunch will be available for $11 beginning at 11:30 am.  Location: Tallan Cellar Restaurant, 200 West ML King Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37402. Invocation & Pledge will be led by Ron Burton.

ASHRAE Luncheon Meeting  December 5 , 2007
Place: Chattanooga Choo Choo (Holiday Inn) Crystal room (lobby)
Time:   11:30 am.  Cost for lunch is $10 if you’re not on the meal plan.  No charge for student meals.

Program Topic:  Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems - A single high efficiency condenser with multiple evaporators located throughout the building, this system can support very high efficiencies, a wide turndown range and heat recovery.  It all comes in a package with a small footprint and takes little space in the building.  Load control and flexibility is inherent.  The benefits of load diversity are optimized.

Architects take note: Less HVAC equipment volume leads to more usable space for the owner and generally significantly smaller ductwork and less wasted space above the ceiling. This type of system is well represented by over half a million installations, and is being installed in the ASHRAE headquarters building.  Please RSVP.

RSVP!! Please call, email, or Fax response  to Patricia King, Phone 553-1618  fax  510-1383 email tricia.king@mckenneys.com
