FUTURE MEETINGS
January 28, 2008 - Dean McGrew, Vice President of Business Development for
Azure Dynamics, will discuss Azure's alternative transportation solutions, with
a focus on the company's hybrid electric power train technology for medium-duty
commercial vehicles. Dean holds a M.S. cum laude in Mechanical
Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a B.S. cum laude in
Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
February 4, 2008 - Dr Ignatius Fomunung, Profesor of Civil Engineering at
UTC. He has recently visited China for talks about collaborating
with engineering educators at the university where he earned one of his
engineering degrees. He will be sharing his China experiences with the
Club.
LAST MEETING
January 14, 2008 - Dale Bradshaw, President of Electrivation, spoke on
"Use of ZnBr batteries for substation and communication node backup".
There is no toxicity related to ZnBr batteries. Dale believes this
technology is the best solution for large-scale battery backup.

2. Joe Hoagland, Vice President, Energy Efficiency
and Demand Response, TVA will be the keynote speaker at the Chattanooga
Technology Council meeting on January 16th. The meeting will be at EPB,
7th floor from 11:30 – 1:00. Cost is $10.00, payable at the
door. RSVP requested to info@chatc.org
3. A LEED building workshop is being offered by the
East Tennessee Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council in Oak Ridge on
