 March 10, 2008 - Come hear an alternate view of climate change.  CEC member Richard Schultz will introduce a DVD presentation titled "The Great Global Warming Swindle" by Dr. Richard S. Lindzen, IPCC (International Panel on Climate Control) and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)

 

Lunch is available on meeting dates for $11 beginning at 11:30 am from the outstanding Cellar Buffet.

March 17, 2008 - David Wade, Sr. VP of Electrical Systems at EPB, will speak on "Strategies for Deployment of Smart Grid Technology".

March 24, 20008 – Dr. George Maul, Professor & Head of Dept. of Marine and Environmental Systems, Univ. of Miami.  We will have heard 2 different views on the Global Warming debate. (March 10 and in 2007).  As an expert, Dr. Maul will help us sort out fact from misinformation.  Dr. Maul is a Fellow with the American Meteorological Society and the Marine Technology Society

March 31, 2008 - Plant Tour of Fillauer on Amnicola Highway.  We will see where prosthetic devices (artificial limbs) are assembled.

 

LAST MEETING

March 3, 2008 - Dr. Mounir Minkara, Water Quality Manager, Chattanooga Dept. of Public Works, spoke on "Water Quality and the Chattanooga Water System".  Water quality is monitored at several locations throughout the city.  Signs with pictures drawn by school kids are posted at various watersheds.  Other activities by the city include industrial monitoring, emergency response for 60-100 incidents per year, and promoting green infrastructures, including green roofs and porous pavers.
