Seven Chattanooga-area companies have been selected as Kruesi Award finalists. The award recipient as well as the other finalists was recognized at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Innovation Awards Luncheon on April 16. The finalists were: Accurate Automation Corporation, Andersen Flaps, Inc., Astec Industries, Inc., Cleveland Tubing, Inc., EnWaste Recovery Systems, Transcard and TR Automation. Each of these companies exhibited their innovative products at the luncheon. You are invited to the 2008 UTC Design Project Poster Showcase, Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Engineering, Math and Computer Science Building, Palmetto at Vine Street. All design projects in Engineering and Computer Science will be on display for your viewing. Some of these will be displayed on the 4th floor. Some larger ones will be displayed outside the entry on the 2nd floor.
The Showcase features the Freshman and Senior student solutions to Assistive Technology needs in this and neighboring communities. Also featured are the Junior/Senior design projects that respond to regional competitions for the Mechanical and Civil engineering societies and design projects that respond to research addressing energy conversion and alternative fuels.
One project being featured at the Showcase (team: Joe Branam, Matt Carroll, Robert Mazza, Vipin Joseph, and Kasia Petras) won 1st place in the Freshman/Sophomore Design Project Competition at the recent American Society for Engineering Education Southeastern Section Conference held in Memphis April 6th – 8th.
