April 21, 2008 - Capstone Design presentations were made by UTC student teams, including a child's walker made from a Power Ranger truck (Assistive Technology project), a canoe that floats (Concrete Canoe, Stuart Rymer), a steel bridge assembled in a little over 3 minutes (Steel Bridge, Seth Campbell) and a car that goes on the water (almost) as well as on land (Mini Baja car, Michael Blessing). Seven Chattanooga-area companies have been selected as Kruesi Award finalists. The award recipient as well as the other finalists were recognized at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Innovation Awards Luncheon on April 16. The finalists were: Accurate Automation Corporation, Andersen Flaps, Inc., Astec Industries, Inc., Cleveland Tubing, Inc., EnWaste Recovery Systems, Transcard and TR Automation. Each of these companies exhibited their innovative products at the luncheon.
