June 2, 2008 - "High Speed Ground Transportation for Atlanta/Chattanooga/Nashville" will be presented by Joe Ferguson.

The primary purpose of a Maglev system is to strategically connect major airports and to augment a balanced distribution of aviation demand and services in the region. Maglev uses proven and advanced magnetic levitation technology to move people and goods at high speeds with a degree of safety, comfort and reliability. Transportation is central to metro Atlanta's growth and success.

Lunch is available on meeting dates for $11 beginning at 11:30 am from the outstanding Cellar Buffet. Location: Tallan Cellar Restaurant, 200 West ML King Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37402.

June 23, 2008 – Greg Sedrick, Prof. at UTSI, will speak on “Space Education”.

June 30, 2008 - Plant Tour of United Enertech.

 

LAST MEETING

May 21, 2008 Wednesday – at EPB.   A joint meeting was held with the Chattanooga Technology Council (CTC).  Pesentations were made by 2008 Early Innovator Award finalists.  The four finalists described their successful inventions. The award contest was sponsored by the Chattanooga Technology Council.  The award is one of three that were presented at the annual Spirit of Innovation Event in April.  Now in its fourth year, the Early Innovator Award honors emerging technology-based companies that have produced a groundbreaking prototype produ ct or beta-stage software application with potential for a significant competitive advantage. 

The four finalists for the 2008 Early Innovator Awards were the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority, Cushion by Design, Inc., NanoChromatic, Inc. and UtiliFlex.  During the April Spirit of Innovation Event, Cushion by Design was named the winner and this Award.   See  http://www.chatc.org
