Tape measures are a thing of the
past. The future includes high definition three-dimensional laser scanning. If
you can see it with your eyes, you can capture, digitize and model it.
Three-dimensional laser scanning provides high
definition surveying for architectural, as-built, and engineering requirements.
The level of detail captured by high definition survey technology is
unparalleled. While the surveying tools that are built with this technology
are more expensive than traditional devices, they make the task of conducting
surveys and creating three-dimensional maps easy and effective. High definition
surveying makes data available quickly for a variety of disciplines, such as construction
planning, engineering, demolition, and environmental classification.

The Club members were greeted by Jerry
Prince and Ken Garner, Sr., who introduced his grandson John Garner, Project
Engineer. John briefly reviewed the growth of the company and led a tour of
the facility. We observed robotic welders, a 1500-ton press, which was forming
counterweight shells for Volvo, and concrete batch mixing equipment.
The Club appreciates the box lunches
provided by Ken Garner Manufacturing and the tour of the plant founded, owned,
and operated locally.
