“Understanding
Home and Office Data Networks” - Chuck Chamberlin,
There used to be a time when owning a computer was something
special. Now most of us have not just one computer or laptop, but several. With
a great number of computers in use, the need to communicate with each computer
increases. Today, data networks have become ubiquitous. Our lack of
understanding about data networks can lead to trouble.
Our own Chuck Chamberlin will describe how data
networks function and how they allow us to communicate with a variety of
computers, printers, and computer peripherals. He will provide us with tips
that will help us operate our network of computers in a secure and more
effective way.

The DOUBLETREE staff has
asked our Club to seat those who eat lunch at the Hotel separately from those
who do not. The staff counts those at the round tables with place settings and
bills the Club for meals consumed. If you do not plan to purchase lunch, please
sit in a chair on the perimeter of the room.

Dan Jacobson welcomed
approximately 35 club members to the BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) Cameron Hill
Campus. Bob Worthington, BCBS; Roger Reese; Griffin Lifsey, March Adams &
Associates; and Tera Maner, March Adams & Associates, were all recognized.
BCBS broke ground in August 2006 and
completed construction in May 2009. Over 100 firms supported the construction
of the 984,484 sq. ft. office facility and the 1,411,727 sq. ft. parking garage.
About 4,000 employees utilize the new facility; however, two additional BCBS
properties off campus are still in use, the Golden Gateway and the
The Cameron Hill facility includes 5
individual buildings. The site has four distinct areas known as "The
Forest", "The Great Lawn", "The Entry", and "The
Courtyard". Over 20,000 trees and shrubs, 2 ponds, and several fountains
surround the buildings. The landscape architect planned the building and
landscape layout to allow employees from inside the hallways of each building
to have unobstructed views of the city, the
