"Use of Robotic Technology in
Urological Cancer Treatment" - Dr. Amar Singh, M.D.,
The development of robotic surgery has given hospitals and
health care providers a valuable tool that is making a profound impact on
highly technical surgical procedures. The field of urology is one area of
medicine that has adopted and incorporated robotic surgery into its
armamentarium.
Dr. Amar Singh will describe the use of robotic technology
in urological cancers. He will discuss how mergers of imaging technology
and computer aided surgical systems have revolutionized modern cancer
surgery. He says that increased utilization and development are fueling
the discovery of newer applications of robotic systems in urologic and other
types of surgery.
Dr. Singh is Chief, Minimally Invasive Surgery-Urological
Oncology of Academic Urologists at
Note:
This week’s meeting will be held in the restaurant of the DOUBLETREE

PREVIOUS MEETING_______________________
Barry Westbrook discussed the
In-Home Energy Evaluation (IHEE) Program. The goal of the program is to reduce
peak power demand on the power system. Homeowner's may call EPB for a 1-3 hour
IHEE. Homeowner's outside the EPB service area will pay a $150 evaluation fee,
which will be reimbursed when recommendations have been applied. Homeowner’s
within the EPB service area are not required to pay the evaluation fee. Each
homeowner may select his own contractor from the Quality Contractor Network
(QCN), which is a certification group established to help home builders provide
energy efficient construction. The Federal Government offers a 30% rebate for
up to $1500 for all approved work. TVA offers a 50% rebate for up to $500.
Approval will be based on the final inspection.
Barry Westbrook is with the
Conservation Services Group (CSG), a private consulting company, which advises
existing homeowners and contractors on how to make the structure more energy
efficient. Mr. Westbrook was introduced by Mark Schwartz, Founder & Principal
Architect of MFS3 Designs pllc & gMC-greenMARK COLLABORATIVE-A Design/Build/Operate
Consortium.
