On December 6, in Cookeville, the Tyner Middle Academy team won two trophies (of about ten awarded) in an eight hour long competition with 40 of the best schools in Tennessee.

The TYBOTS took first place, in the Tennessee statewide competition, in the research and presentation phase of Mission Mars, the 2003 international competition sponsored by First Lego League (www.firstlegoleague.org). Details on the research assignment can be found at the FLL site. They also took second place in the Teamwork Judges Awards, based on the performance of the team evaluated by a panel of more than a dozen judges and numerous interviews.

This is a marvelous accomplishment. "Thank you!!!" to the sponsors and supporters (Chattanooga Engineers Club is the primary sponsor, for the second year) of the Tyner team and "Special Thanks!!!" to team coach Lora Aycock .
