Each coach is presumed to be on the way to Cookeville. On December 6, the teams will head back to Cookeville for the state competition (47 students and coaches and more than 40 parents were there last year). We plan to once again represent the area well and bring back a few awards.
Last year, two teams placed in the top quartile in overall performance, which includes teamwork and research project performance. The Tybots were 10th overall and the David Brainerd Christian School Wildcats were 11th. This is great performance, in all phases of the competition and against 60 of the best schools and teams in the state. Lora Aycock and Jeff Allen are great coaches, both with teams with no previous experience.
Last year's theme was "Power Puzzle" and dealt with the use of energy. This year's theme (2008) will focus on weather and climate change.
